D400/600
D400 and D600 BUC/BDC/LNB Driver units
Peak Communications was formed in 1995 and began by manufacturing the P701 L band frequency downconverter. The addition of the Upconverter module in 1996 enabled Peak Communications to produce the P702 L band upconverter and then also the P700 L band Up/Down converter in a single 1RU. Over time the product range has increased to include 19" rack mount and remote mount block up and down converters covering the main satellite operating frequencies including X, C and Ku Bands. The integration of these block converters into a P700 converter facilitated full frequency conversion from IF to SHF via L band. In 2003 the P7000 range of converters was launched to supersed the P700 range.
The D400 and D600 Driver units are flexible and configurable to customer specific requirements. They are designed to supply DC power and/or a reference frequency to a remote mounted Block DownConverter (BDC), Low Noise Block (LNB) or Block UpConverter (BUC). These units are ideal in the situation where the connecting modulator cannot supply a suitable external DC supply or when the modulator reference frequency is either unavailable or has insufficient stability for the application. The Driver units are 19 inch rack mounted and can be powered from 230 or 110 volts.
The D400 unit is designed for use with a BDC or LNB. These units can supply up to 24VDC at typically 500mA and can incorporate a locking reference frequency of typically 10MHz. The supply to the BDC/LNB is a composite of DC, Reference and the received L-Band signal. The output of the D400 unit is the L-Band signal.
The D600 units are designed for use with a BUC. These units can supply up to 24VDC at typically 500mA and can incorporate a locking reference frequency of typically 10MHz. The supply to the BUC is a composite of DC, Reference and the L-Band signal to be transmitted. The input of the D600 unit is the L-Band signal.
