TLT742 X-Band (TX) to X-Band (RX)

Peak Communications was formed in 1995 and began by manufacturing the P701 L band frequency downconverter. The addition of the Upconverter module in 1996 enabled Peak Communications to produce the P702 L band upconverter and then also the P700 L band Up/Down converter in a single 1RU. Over time the product range has increased to include 19" rack mount and remote mount block up and down converters covering the main satellite operating frequencies including X, C and Ku Bands. The integration of these block converters into a P700 converter facilitated full frequency conversion from IF to SHF via L band. In 2003 the P7000 range of converters was launched to supersed the P700 range.

A Test Loop Translator is used to convert from one frequency to another for test purposes. No filters are included in the unit and the output of the unit contains all mixing products. Frequency converters with the same input and output frequencies and with filtered outputs are also available.
The TLT Series of units are designed to take a sample of the TX signal and convert it to a frequency at which it can be monitored or analysed. The optional 0 to 30dB variable attenuator control is used to balance the incoming power with the monitoring system. The unit consists of an RF strip, which is a single mixer stage and a control PCB to monitor the system and provide a stable reference for the Local Oscillator.
The unit is housed in 19 inch 1'U' high chassis, suitable for rack mounting, is 400 mm deep and may be fitted with rack slides if required.
The unit is designed to meet the phase noise and frequency stability requirements of the broadcast industry to minimise signal degradation.

Peak Features
